Tom has a reputation in Brisbane as a versatile composer whose focus is to bridge the space between musical areas like 'pop' and 'classical' or 'high and low art'. He is the recipient of various government grants, commissions, is a prizewinner in national composition competitions, and has traveled internationally to pursue his interest in modern music. Over the last fifteen years Tom has been involved with and composed music for a number of groups in Brisbane pioneering new music; these include The Seventh Chapter, The Trickster Project, and Sympatico. Recently, with Clint Allen and Sam Vincent, he has founded his own group, The Praxis Axis, to expound his interest in a cross-over between electronic and acoustic forms.

Presently Tom works at home in his composition studio completing a PhD in composition, under Robert Davidson at UQ, as well as freelance jobs for local artists, and helping local computer game companies with digital audio editing. Tom is married to pianist Kellee Green, has two young sons, and also enjoys woodwork, electronics, cooking, history and philosophy.
